This must be the longest anniversary celebration that we had. We usually spend the day at a place but this time we’ve decided to bounce places. 🙂
We started Saturday afternoon heading to Timog Ave. to catch a gig. BLKD invited us to their org’s event called Peksman : Mamatay Man, a 90s Kult Night. We got to Skarlet Jazz Kitchen early so we grabbed a milk tea fix at I ♥ Milk Tea just across the bar. We have been fond of milk tea so good thing that tea shops are everywhere. 🙂
The UP people have set up the gig nicely. I was able to relate easily. Being a 90s kid, everything in the event is familiar. There are pin up posters of boybands and 90s acts. There’s also Tindahan ni Aling Nena selling paper dolls, plastic balloons, jack stones and 90s candies. There are also several bands, mostly from UP. They played 90s music from Oasis, TLC, Barbie’s Cradle, etc. It was all familiar. Hard not to sing along. 🙂
Come 11PM, Stick Figgas, the main act is on stage. This is when the crowd went loco (in a good way). They sang their popular songs and the audience sang along to every line. I was dancing and singing, myself. I haven’t been to gigs in a while, and I can say that I enjoyed this night so much despite the amount of sweat I had hehe.
After their set, we headed over to Cubao for an early travel to Tagaytay. But before that, here is a video of Stick Figgas as they perform Tao Lang from the night’s event. I’m right next to the girl whose elbow you see on the left side of the video. 😀
You can check this link for the Tagaytay continuation. ♥
