The year is about to end tonight and I will spend it at work. I don’t feel bad about it though because I think 2013 has been good enough all year round, that I can pass celebrating its last day. 🙂 Here’s a recap of the highlights of 2013:
I also spent the beginning of 2013 at work, having quick booze in the middle of Buendia Ave, in front of our Makati office. In January 5th, I got my first postpaid phone, an iPhone 5 which was approved the same day. In the afternoon, we went straight to Bacoor for the opening of GV Tiki Stop, which is a seemingly branch of the GV Store that we have. At night, was Icaruz’s birthday celebration at The Hub in front of SM City Bacoor.
This is my birthday month, jampacked with events (good and bad). It was my first time to go to Resorts World Manila, as by inivitation of my friend, Mau along with our high school friends + Chino. We had dinner at Mercato for free! 🙂 After that, I had to go straight to work and go home in the morning. In my usual sleep in the bus happened the unfortunate event of losing the iPhone which I mentioned from January. Yes, the phone was with me for 1 month and 2 days when I lost it the morning before my birthday. 😦 In spite of it, I am still able to celebrate my birthday. The office surprised me with a birthday cake on shift at exactly 12. Chino and I also had my birthday dinner at Racks in Mall of Asia before heading to B-Side to attend the first Fliptop event of the year. I spent my birthday there and to also support the 1 on 1 tournament of BLKD. In Feb, the biggest celebrity endorser of GV was personified in Mark Herras. hehe He posted a photo in his instagram account wearing his Carpe Diem and Hustle and Hustle & Flow shirts! In Feb 12th, we also attended the Hustlin Nights event in Tanza which was frontmanned by Abra.
The start of summer and travels of 2013 was in March. On the first day of the month, we got on a flight to Davao to attend the 2nd Fliptop event of the year and support the 2 on 2 tournament with Icaruz and Rapido. We also segued to a day in Samal Island to rest. Another unfortunate event is that I left my digital camera in a taxi, just we are about to go to the airport in Davao. 😦 My foodie perona (I think) also started this month when we went to Ihop for the first time when it first opened in The Fort. Aside from that, my love for milk tea started, getting me into a drinking frenzy of 3 months straight milk tea consumption. This led me to the biggest weight I ever gained in my life, which is a different story haha. During the holy week, Chino and I met up with Ria and Mau. It was a Good Friday with Good Friends. ❤
Summer is continued. On April 6th, Team GudVibes had our first outing at Mount Sea Resort along with 20 plus ka-vibes. We shared the pool, the food and the fun! April 12th, we were in B-Side again, not for FlipTop but to catch Ruby Ibarra’s gig. If you don’t know her, she is a FilAm female rapper having a tour in the Philippines. Try to google her as well. hehe On April 14th, GV Clothing joined Sole Slam Manila for the first time. It was held in One Esplanade near Mall of Asia where we had a booth along with many other clothing stores and shoe retailers. The event is mainly a sneaker convention, thus the name. GV also took part in producing Rapido’s Para Sa Atin music video which was shot in Rosario, Cavite with cameos of several FlipTop emcees. Before the month ends, the office took us to Calatagan, Batangas for our yearly summer Fun Day in Stilts Resort. We spent overnight there with good food and lots of picture taking!
I’m not big with shoes but I got my first Jordans in May. 🙂 Chino and I got a pair each of Jordan 5 Grapes for the love of Michael Jordan. 😀 There has also been another FlipTop event that we attended in May 18th. Plus my officemates and I started to go to a series of breakfast every after-shift which I think also contributed in my gaining weight haha. On May 27th, Chino and I headed to Ilocos Norte for another beach time, thanks to Piso fare of Tiger Airways. ❤ We spent a day in Laoag then another in Pagudpud, plus several food trips on the side.
Last push for Summer in first week of June as Chino and I headed to Boracay with my sister and niece. We are all first timers and equally in awe of the the beauty that is Boracay. Photos will not suffice, you need to be there personally to know. 🙂 In June 16th, The GV Store turned 1 year old and we celebrated it with some food and friends. Of course, at the end of the month is Chino’s birthday. We celebrated it over dinner at Movie Stars Cafe in Mall of Asia. It is movie themed restaurant, where movie memorabilia is all around with cosplayers whom you can take picture with and performances every 1/2 hour.
July 20th, it was another FlipTop night at B-Side where we spotted Jun Sabayton who seems to be observing and documenting the event. In other news, me and 3 more of my colleagues started our Biggest Loser challenge nyaha! 12K is at stake so we also started playing badminton after shift and talk more about diet and weight lose techniques. O.O
This is Abra month, nyaha! It started when we attended his press conference at Vanity SuperClub last August 3. Followed with a Cavite Campus Tour organized by GV Clothing last August 7. Then it was culminated by the Abra2013 grand concert at the Circuit Event Grounds where we got full VIP backstage access last August 17. The day after the concert, a typhoon has struck Luzon, leaving major roads and several cities in flood. Because of it, I was stranded in the office for 3 days. Good thing, the rain and water subsided just in time for our Cebu trip last August 23. It was our Tutri celebration where we finally tried the famous Cebu Lechon. We also got to visit the Nick Automatic store and luckily got to chat with Nick himself who’s very nice to drop us to the airport too. Aside from that, we had an overnight stay at the luxurious BE Resorts in Mactan. We also got a pair of Jordans there in Cebu, Son of Mars for me and Jordan 8 for Chino.
We’re back in Resorts World Again with Chino, Mau and Ria. This time we had dinner at Passions Restaurant and coffee over at Cafe Maxim’s. Good thing I did not lose any cellphones after it. 😀 September 13th, was our Team Building courtesy of the office held at Market Market at The Fort. It was an amazing race type of activity where our group finished in first place. For it, we got a free buffet dinner at Tong Yang in Jupiter St. Another typhoon has struck Manila during 3rd week of September which stranded me in the office again. Good thing I was able to to go home at the night of 23rd to celebrate our 4th Tutri. We had buffet dinner at Heritage Hotel. ❤
It was the FlipTop semis and of course we are present! It was also my first time to watch a movie in Mall of Asia this month, we tried the Directors Club to watch Runner Runner, a Poker movie starring Justin Timberlake. We took home a GoPro after the movie, which changed the whole selfie game haha. In October 8th, we went to 70’s Bistro in QC for the Da Mo Da Merrier gig with several FlipTop emcees. Before the month ends, it was the moment of truth for our Biggest Loser challenge. Lo and behold, I won it with 15-kilo loss haha it was along with JM, so we had to split the prize. How I did it is a different post haha. The very next morning, we had breakfast in Aristocrat and had Crispy Pata. >.<
The second Sunday of the month is the Cavite City fiesta. At night, we went to the carnival and tried what seems to appear the safest ride there haha. We had the GoPro handy so it was all good. 😀 GV also celebrated its 3rd anniversary with a mini event at the Store plus KJah’s album launch. Following that is the first legit photo shoot that we have had. It was held at Studio 4104 in Imus with Janny Medina as our model, sporting the latest GV shirts. I also invited 2 of my friends to try the newly opened Hatch22 in Rockwell. I also celebrated my 3rd year at work. 🙂
The highlight of the year goes to December. This month has been packed with food trips, happenings and more. I have been recognized as Agent of the Year, which I am very thankful for. I am also able to complete all FlipTop events of 2013, which concluded last December 21st. Plus our family got to be complete again. 🙂 The family picture below took 19 years in the making. Finally, we have persuaded mother to take a vacation in the Philippines. Father and sister were able to make it too. It was nice taking them around Cavite which they have not seen for quite a long time. Though mother was just here for 2 weeks, it was enough to highlight the year. 🙂
Though I try my best to put into words how 2013 has been, this blog post just wouldn’t be enough. There are far many more events, happenings and realizations throughout the year that made this an amazing 2013. Work, friends, family, relationships, finances, travel, business, leisure and more. All of those contributed to a fruitful and productive year. Thank you to everyone for sharing the year with me especially to Chino who’s with me in almost every happening. 🙂 I am looking forward for it to continue to 2014 (hopefully) and I wish an equally awesome year to everyone! 🙂 To end this post, here is my all-time favorite year-end song, Seasons of Love from the movie Rent. ❤
525,600 minutes.. how do you measure a year in the life? how about love? … measure in love..
Happy New Year everyone! 🙂
